The Opel Rekord C was an (upper) middle class passenger car and was built from August 1966 to January 1972. Development and production were carried out by Adam Opel AG, then owned by General Motors. Because of its characteristic 'hip swing' in the rear area, the Rekord C was nicknamed the Coke Bottle. With the Rekord C, the most successful model in the Rekord series, Opel achieved sales figures above the million mark for the first time.
