The Volkswagen VW Type 82, better known as the 'Kübelwagen', was a German off-road vehicle in World War II, of which over 50,000 examples in various versions were built between August 1940 and April 1945. Originating from an idea by Ferdinand Porsche and the KdF (Strength through Joy) project for an affordable Volkswagen, a minimalist off-road vehicle variant was developed for the Wehrmacht at the start of the war. For example, the doors on some models were replaced with fabric tarpaulins or there were even no doors at all. The term 'Kübelwagen' originally comes from half-bucket seats, the so-called Kübel seats, but over time became a synonym for all vehicles of this type. The VW Type 82 did not have half-buckets, but seats with tubular frames. The civilian version of the VW was never delivered, and it was only after the end of the war that production of the successor to the KdF car of the VW Beetle began in the Volkswagen factories. The city in Lower Saxony that was founded especially for this KdF project has been called Wolfsburg since June 1945 and today has around 126,000 inhabitants. Very detailed model in 1:12 scale with 1326 parts, printed blocks and movable elements. Model dimensions (LxWxH): 30.5 x 14 x 12 cm
