Cartridge life:
Approximately 350 press cycles (250 liters), when the "press time" reaches ~25 seconds (or three years have passed since first use), it is time to replace your purification cartridge. Lifespan will decrease when purifying water with a high level of silt, sediment or tannins. Cartridge press time increases towards the end of cartridge life. When the press time reaches 25-30 seconds, the cartridge should be replaced.

Cartridge shelf life:
An unopened cleaning cartridge has a shelf life of 10 years when stored under proper conditions. After a cartridge has been used, it will last for at least 3 more years.
