Die RMS Titanic ist das wohl berühmteste Schiff der Welt. Jeder kennt ihre tragische Geschichte vom Zusammenstoß mit dem Eisberg auf der Jungfernfahrt und dem Untergang in den eisigen Fluten des Nordatlantiks in der Nacht des 15. April 1912. Ihr Bau begann am 31. März 1909 auf der Werft Harland & Wolff in Belfast. Am 31. Mai 1911 erfolgte der Stapellauf und die Ausstattung konnte am 31. März des folgenden Jahres abgeschlossen werden.
