Schleich baby giraffe

When they are born, baby giraffes weigh 50 kilograms and fall to the ground from a height of two meters. But they do not injure themselves and can walk after a short time. Baby giraffes are raised together with other young animals in a kind of kindergarten. A female giraffe from the herd acts as the kindergarten teacher and looks after the calves while the other mothers look for food. If predators approach, she immediately raises the alarm. The female giraffes then stand protectively in front of their babies and kick at the attackers. At around four months, the little ones begin to pluck leaves from trees and eat them, but are still suckled by their mother until they are nine months old.
