The Komodo dragon lives exclusively on a few islands in Indonesia. It can grow up to 3 m long and weigh over 70 kg. Komodo dragons hunt during the day and sometimes even kill wild boars. They can only hunt such large prey by producing a poison in their lower jaw, which causes shock that can kill the hunted animals days later. Komodo dragons do not only feed on freshly killed prey, but also largely on carrion.
