The alligator is a dangerous predator with exceptionally strong jaw muscles. Only the great white shark can bite harder than it. The interesting thing about it is that only the muscles that close the jaw are extremely strong. The muscles that open the snout are so weak that they could be tied up with simple adhesive tape. Compared to the saltwater crocodile, the alligator is smaller and significantly wider. It lives exclusively in rivers and lakes in the southeast of the USA and China.
